The association
Founded in 2025, the Duplin County Latino Association (ALCD) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that began with a vision to uplift the Latino community in Duplin County by fostering cultural pride and educational opportunities for all.

Mission
Our mission is to celebrate and promote Latino culture by organizing vibrant festivals and other events that showcase our rich traditions, arts, and history while connecting Latinos with their roots. We are committed to empowering the Latino community through educational support, offering scholarships and resources that foster academic success and personal growth. By providing valuable information and tools, we aim to strengthen and uplift the Latino community, fostering pride, unity, and progress for generations to come.

Our vision is to create a thriving, united Latino community where cultural heritage is celebrated, educational opportunities are accessible to all, and every individual is empowered to reach their fullest potential. Through advocacy, education, and cultural initiatives, we strive to build a future where Latinos are recognized, valued, and equipped to lead with confidence and pride in every aspect of society.
Our team

PRESIDENT
Francisco Rivas-Díaz is a committed leader and advocate for cultural engagement in Duplin County. As the President of the ALCD and the Cultural Engagement and Recruitment Administrator for Duplin County Schools, he works diligently to encourage community involvement. He organizes the Festival Cultural Latino, which celebrates the rich heritage of the Latino community. Additionally, Francisco is honored to be the first Latino elected as councilman and appointed as Mayor Pro-Tem for the Town of Wallace, reflecting his dedication to representation and service.
